Hello
I’m Caitlyn Barrick, a photographer based in Westchester, New York.
I learned to photograph by paying attention to the places I came from; rooms I knew well, people I loved, and environments that carried both comfort and tension. That way of seeing stayed with me. I’m drawn to spaces that feel lived-in, to subtle textures, and to the quiet moments that reveal themselves when you slow down and look closely.
My work is rooted in observation rather than performance. I approach interiors, food, and environments with a curated, editorial eye, but I’m always chasing something human; an image that feels honest, tactile, and unforced. I care about cohesion, restraint, and photographs that hold meaning over time, not just at first glance.
My Story
My relationship with photography began as a way of understanding where I came from. I grew up returning to the same places again and again; familiar rooms, family spaces, landscapes shaped by repetition and memory. Photographing them taught me that places are never static; they change as we do, even when they look the same.
That early work focused on home, family, and the quiet tension between belonging and distance. I learned to pay attention to what lingers; the emotional weight of a space, the way light carries history, the subtle signs of care and wear. Those instincts still guide my work.
Over time, that way of seeing expanded beyond personal subjects into interiors, food, and environments meant to be shared. I bring the same attentiveness to commissioned work; looking closely, working patiently, and creating images that feel considered rather than imposed. What matters to me is that a photograph feels true to the space and to the people who inhabit it.
